After a few months queued up, Jeff’s found me a laserdisc copy of Prospero’s Books on Ebay. Haven’t seen it since the premiere — Sacha Vierny’s lovely side-scrolling tracking in the set pieces (especially the opening credits) is lovely as ever, tho some other bits (Caliban’s cave) are very BBC. Still, a fine thing.
I keep buying CDs then never really making time to listen, or end up doing a cursory listen and only ever playing the tracks that stood out 1st time thru; missing the pleasure of walking into the room and hearing unexpected things.
Hence, The Continual — various old favourites and lots of new things that I haven’t properly explored. Have a listen.
